Carl Westmoreland was Proudly born and raised in Chicago, Illinois on the west side in the Austin area. The eclectic artist/songwriter music covers the spectrum from triumphant, witty and carefree to gut-punching reflection and haunting yet imaginative stories. Inspired by artists like Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, Drake,j.cole,OutKast,Jay-z, Biggie, Tupac, ice cube, Prince and Kurt Cobain.

Growing up Westmoreland was always submerged in music and creativity in some form. His grandparent's house always had a different soundtrack blasting depending on where you were. Bellows from rock and roll loving mechanic uncle in the back alley, soulful blues with vices In abundance and card players in the basement. It was always there and he was always a sponge soaking it in.

Westmoreland went from listening attentively to breaking things apart and understanding by reading lyrics from album booklets. Luckily his uncle worked at Sears and had a healthy music catalog that was almost always updated and it was open for him to explore these sonic worlds.

Eventually, after high school Westmoreland created the name "Honest" and began to mess around In home studios and various studios around Chicago. Taking the music more seriously he enrolled at SAE institute where not only could he master his craft but learn mixing, mastering and the business side of things to better assert himself in the entertainment industry and the local music scene.

Westmoreland has since released 5 projects. 2 solo and 3 collaborative under "Honest" and "The Unlikely Friends". Performed at numerous showcases, small festivals and even curated his own local events.

Westmoreland is now going by his last name and is working on new music to share.
